About Supermax Group

Supermax Healthcare Canada is a division of Supermax Group based out of Berhad, Malaysia. Supermax Corp. is the world’s second largest disposable glove manufacturer. Supermax currently exports to over 160 countries worldwide in the regions of America, Europe, Middle East, Asia and the South Pacific. As an own-brand manufacturer, Supermax has developed a range of successful brands such as Supermax, Aurelia and Maxter which are trusted and recognized by laboratories, hospitals, pharmacists, doctors and surgeons around the world.

Supermax Group produces up to 24 billion pieces of gloves per year, meeting approximately 12% of the world demand for latex examination gloves. Supermax Group has thirteen (13) manufacturing plants based in Malaysia equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, energy-saving biomass systems and a research and development centre. Four (4) of these manufacturing facilities are already fully automatized, and Supermax Group is planning to reach 17 manufacturing facilities by the end of 2020.

Supermax has eight (8) own distribution centres and corporate offices based in the United States of America, Brazil, Canada, England, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan, and collaborates with over 1,200 independent distributors around the world.

Today, Supermax’s brands of products have since carved distinctive names synonymous to superior quality and continue to be the products of choice among consumers worldwide. Supermax is committed to research and development as well as product innovation and strives for the “pursuit of quality and excellence”

1987

The Supermax Group was founded by Dato’ Seri Stanley Thai and his wife Datin Seri Cheryl Tan as a trading business distributing latex gloves.

1989

Stanley & Cheryl started their first manufacturing facility with just a small team of committed and dedicated employees. With a business foresight and in answering the Government’s call to brand Malaysian products, Supermax ventured into own brand manufacturing and became the first OBM (own brand manufacturing) latex glove manufacturer in Malaysia when it launched its first brand, Supermax.

1990’s

Through brand embodiment, creative packaging and premium quality products, Supermax gained a substantial foothold and commands significant market share in the US dental market. The success of Supermax has encouraged the Company to continue its efforts on niche marketing and create brand differentiation through the provision of superior and consistent quality control as well as product innovation.

2001

Supermax Group is publicly traded on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad as a leading international manufacturer, distributor and marketer of high-quality medical gloves.

2004

Aurelia Gloves Canada Supermax history 2004Stanley meets with Sylvain Bergeron and they partner up to start the Canadian branch of Supermax Group: Supermax Canada. Based out of Pointe-Claire (Quebec), Supermax Canada focuses mostly on latex & nitrile gloves supplies in the medical and dental industries. The organization becomes a key personal protection equipment (PPE) supplier of the University of Montreal Hospital Centres (CHUM).

2009

Aurelia Gloves Canada pur CottonSupermax Canada introduces the first biodegradable sponges on the Canadian market: PurCotton. This marks the first step of Supermax Canada to become a one-stop-shop for disposable PPE in the dental industry as well as bringing innovative, eco-friendly PPE alternatives on the Canadian market.

2012

2012: Supermax Canada becomes Supermax Healthcare Canada Inc. (SHCI) and moves from Pointe-Claire to Brossard (QC) to acquire larger office and warehousing space.

2017

SHCI introduces a complete line of disposable surgical-grade face masks with PurCotton, eco-friendly alternatives to the traditional synthetic procedural masks.

2017

Following five consecutive years of significant growth on the Canadian market with the development of a full PPE line for the dental and medical industry, SHCI gains traction in other industries such as the sanitary, health & safety, sanitary, homecare, beauty & cosmetics, food products and automotive industries.

2017

SHCI moves from Brossard to Longueil (QC) to access additional office and warehouse space.

2019

SHCI introduces several new PPE products for the industrial sector such as beard nets, hair nets, shoe covers, isolation gowns and lab coats.

2020

As part of its commitment to develop and supply eco-friendly products and maintain the highest standards for sustainable product lifecycle, SHCI achieves the Carbone Neutral Certification.
