Due to a global health crisis, the challenge of sourcing personal protective equipment (PPE) has prompted Supermax Healthcare Canada Group to create its own Canadian manufacturing division for certified surgical masks, Supermax Medical. Since then, the Aurelia Gloves Canada brand proudly distributes surgical masks ENTIRELY made in Canada.
Creating Surgical Masks Self-Sufficiency
To meet the overwhelming demand for masks in Canada, we have displayed extraordinary creativity and responsiveness, which characterizes the very essence of the Aurelia brand. The pandemic has shown us that we were completely dependent on manufacturers outside our borders. To overcome this gap, we have created our own supply chain. And now, more than ever: “Making a difference is in your hands”—Aurelia’s motto.
It is with great pleasure that Supermax Healthcare Canada Group is now able to:
- offer local masks made by local people;
- adequately provide masks according to the demand of the population, governments and clients;
- use products and services from Canadian suppliers, such as printers, box suppliers, etc.;
- fill new quality positions within the company

We are seeing results now that we manufacture our own masks locally in Canada. An initiative that makes all THE difference!
Furthermore, Supermax Medical will benefit from Canada Economic Development’s (CED) support with an investment of $750,000 for the production of new masks, which means the purchase of seven automated and ultramodern machines, and a production capacity of 420 million masks per year.
We are now ready to deal with any new contingencies or future pandemics.
